relay is an automatic switching electronic component with isolation function. It is widely used in remote control, telemetry, communication, automatic control, mechatronics and power electronic equipment. It is one of the most important control components. This paper is based on my understanding of IEC standards and the testing method of relay in VDE laboratory according to its structure.
The relay also generates electromagnetic force by the signal current passing through the electromagnetic coil of the relay, which pulls the armature and realizes the opening and closing of contacts. However, unlike non-magnetic latching relays, the signal current can be cut off after the contact is driven, and the working state of the contact is maintained entirely by the attraction of the permanent magnet to the armature. Therefore, coil power consumption is almost zero. High-power relays, such as BST-902, with contact load capacity up to 250VAC and 30 ~ 100A, have been used in power sector in recent years, especially in smart electricity meters, as large current switching components.
